http://debianubuntu.org/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ nslu2-fails-to-boot/NSLU2 owners need to be careful while using their toy. Apparently, Debian is having a full week of bugs and the NSLU2 wasn’t exception. According to Martin Michlmayr, two problems were found on Debian-arm who caused boot failures on the Linksys NAS.

Unslung on my NSLU2
http://www.detronizator.org/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ unslung-on-my-nslu2/Motivated by my friend KM here (sorry, Italian link), I decided to buy a Linksys NSLU2, a Micro-NAS based on Linux. Linksys (owned by Cisco) released since day one the source code of the tuned Linux Kernel, instantly allowing the Open Source community to hack this device in a million of ways.

Screen also works on the Synology NAS
http://edward.de.leau.net/ screen-also-work-on-synology-nas-20080504.htmlI discovered "screen" was also available in the NLSU2 feed.It can be installed via the IPKG system. Nice that it is available. With screen you can start up multiple sessions not directly attached to the terminal you are logged in with.

Speeding up the NSLU2
http://insanityworks.co.uk/ blog/ 2008/ 04/ speeding-up-nslu2.htmlIn my home network I have a small NAS (Network Attached Storage) solution consisting of a Linksys NSLU2 (Network Storage Link for USB 2.0 Disk Drives) and a number of attached external USB hard disks. The NSLU2 or "SLUG" as it is often called runs Linux, as per the terms of the GNU General Public License Linksys were required to release their source code.

NSLU2 - Backup files
http://www.dpembo.ukfsn.org/ ?p=33NSLU2 - Backup files Posted by pembo under: Linksys NSLU2. Now that I’ve managed to copy all my important files onto the USB disk plugged into DISK1 of my NSLU2, I wanted to make sure I kept a backup of everything, and decided a good strategy would be to mirror files to the hard disk plugged into DISK2 (via my USB hub) of the NSLU2.

unRAID Plus Ordered.
http://www.thehtpc.net/ archives/ 48I finally pulled the trigger on unRAID. As mentioned a few posts ago, I had originally planned on the Pro version, but I just can’t justify more than 6 drives for probably another year or more, and the savings incurred now outweigh the upgrade costs later.
