number

A number is a unit of measurement that usually answers the question of, "How much?" or "How many?" We use numbers constantly to quantify. We use numbers to tell the time, we use numbers to place values on things, we use numbers to prioritize tasks, and we use numbers to put things in order. There are even numbers used by the federal government to identify us, such as our Social Security Number. There is one particular number that is used to signify being the best at something, the number 1.

Some people love numbers so much that they become math teachers or mathematicians. Some people hate numbers and have a hard time balancing their checkbooks. Some people proclaim, "My weakness is in Calculus and Trigonometry." Numbers really shouldn't be so intimidating. It's not like they are Rocket Surgery or Brain Science.

Some people learn enough about numbers so that they can at least count their money. Some people memorize their Sleep Number, while others can't remember such difficult digits, so they get a latex mattress instead.
