    The Stick turns 3!

    http://www.thethinkingstick.com/ ?p=747

I told this story as my 10 minute TED talk at Learning 2.008. As September 19th was The Stick’s 3 year anniversary. The Thinking Stick turned 3 a few days ago and it’s hard to imagine that it’s been 3 years since I installed Wordpress and just started writing.

The Common Sense Concept of Religion

    http://itself.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 09/ 20/ the-common-sense-concept-of-religion/…

Saturday, September 20, 2008 I recently read Martha Nussbaum’s Liberty of Conscience for a reading group, and I found her recommendation of the American approach to religious liberty very convincing. There was one area, however, that I found less convincing, which was her definition of religion as basically a search for ultimate meaning.

    A New Learning Opportunity

    http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 09/ new-learning-opportunity.html

I’m really excited about a new learning opportunity I began this week. I’m helping as a “Community Leader” for the ADVIS Cohort of Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach and Will Richardson’s Powerful Learning Practice initiative.

    Learning 2.0 Shanghai

    http://teachingsagittarian.edublogs.org/ 2008/ 09/ 12/ learning-20-shanghai/

I have to keep pinching myself because it seems so far-fetched that I’m flying to Shanghai, China in 6 days to attend the Learning2.0 Conference beginning with Edublogger Con on Thursday 18th September AND I get to fly with two fabulous friends and awesome bloggers Kim Cofino and Tara Ethridge AND catch up with fellow NZder Simon May who lives and teaches in Shanghai.

    Lassen & Hennigs

    http://www.eatingintranslation.com/ 2008/ 09/ lassen-hennigs.html

This longtime deli/bakery/caterer prepares the softer style of black-and-white cookie ($2.25); as at Leske's Bakery, still-moist frosting perches on a spongy base. Because it travels more easily, the "hardshell" variety — as at Nussbaum & Wu — is much easier to track down in New York, and you can find it in several variations (I'm fond of all-vanilla).

Bruce Nussbaum on product testing in the marketplace

    http://perpenduum.com/ 2008/ 09/ bruce-nussbaum-on-product-testing-in-the-market…

So Google just released a beta version of their Chrome browser without offering software for Mac OSX and Linux users. That fact was the content of my previous post. This is one major example of companies doing their product testing in the marketplace.

What kind of world are we preparing our students for?

    http://jennylu.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 31/ what-kind-of-world-are-we-preparing-…

Jump to Comments I’ve had a very busy couple of days. Actually, I’ve had a very busy last few months. I’m immersed in a new way of looking at education and it’s very hard to switch off. As much as I try and stay off the grid for periods of my day, I find myself thinking all the time.
