“Personal Branding” has been hotly debated recently in my circles. “Do I have a personal brand?” “Does personal branding exist?” “Am I a brand or a person?” Part of the reason this is discussed so often is that people tend to define a personal brand in terms that don’t mean anything.

I’m back from the Vineyard and ready to talk about “dating in New York” again. I feel defeatist and pessimitic admitting it but, if I’m being honest, I think New York is the worst city for single, straight women. I’m blogging about this today because the topic came up a couple times over the weekend.

Dating myself here as I tend to do but this was also recently unearthed in my closet. Johnny Lydon aka Rotten glaring at me at Danceteria when I went to see Brian Brain (Martin Atkins) in my early underage nightclubbing days. Martin Atkins was the drummer for Johnny's band P.I.L which had broken up by this time.

Yesterday I was in New York City being a good consultant and meeting with clients and doing some business development with people I’d really want to work with. Nothing drives home my value like looking across a table at someone and telling them something they didn’t know which could change their entire business.
