But the fact that Zoho now has over one million users and just launched Zoho Docs bodes well for the company (and the still-nascent online business suite business at large).

Microsoft’s online collaboration space for Office users, where they can store, exchange and share their documents, now has one million users. We went through the most interesting features of Office Live Workspace when the beta opened up to everyone, and it is a solid effort.

According to ZDNet, Microsoft plans to release the final version of Office Live Workspace by the end of 2008. The Google Docs competitor, which was launched as a beta in December of 2007, has been downloaded by over a million users. Office Live Workspace is NOT a web-based version of Office.

News Analysis. Microsoft is averaging about 5,000 Office Live Workspace signups per day.

Microsoft is preparing to move Office Live Workspace, the online storage/collaboration service adjunct to Office, from beta to final before the end of this year. Microsoft officials said on September 3 that as of a week ago, the public beta of Office Live Workspace had been downloaded by one million customers.

I was invited to sign up for Office Live Workspace Beta and gladly took the offer. I see Live Workspace as a perfect cloud-based collaborative tool, especially for the college environment where sharing ideas, class notes, peer edits for papers or journal articles, etc., are all paramount to the learning environment.
