Cider chicken stew (OAMC)
http://www.busyfamilymeals.com/ cider-chicken-stew-oamc/A lovely fall stew to make with either hard cider or the regular tame stuff :-) This makes 4 very hearty servings or 6 medium ones. Since it’s a wonderful OAMC recipe, think about whether to double it so that the time invested is more profitable. This takes a long simmering time to taste its best.

Bleached Carrots, Trash Talk, & a Big Vat of Salsa: Our Sunday Round-up
http://greenbabyguide.com/ 2008/ 10/ 05/ bleached-carrots-trash-talk-a-big-vat-o…Green and Clean Mom reveals that baby carrots are dipped in bleach to prevent those pesky white spots. It looks like switching over to full-size carrots might be the way to go. Also at Green and Clean Mom, I found a discussion about paying for trash: how do you pay for it? If trash pick-up is paid

This freezes well, kidls love it, so do husbands and hormonal women…Perfect for a cold day, a bad day, a busy day…or just because. Baked jambalaya (OAMC)
http://www.busyfamilymeals.com/ baked-jambalaya-oamc/Here’s a delicious Once A Month Cooking treat for you: jambalaya that you’ll eat with a fork instead of a spoon! You can double, triple, or whatever this recipe to make multiple batches. The recipe below makes enough to feed an average family of four. I like to add something green to the meal on the day it’s served.

Turkish Beef, A Vintage Recipe
http://www.bakingdelights.com/ 2008/ 09/ 05/ turkish-beef-a-vintage-recipe/I have such a backlog of recipes and cookbooks that I could probably cook something different, three times a day, all year long, until I died and I would still never have to repeat anything. I love vintage cookbooks for several reasons, but the main one is practicality.

Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Y’all
http://www.bakingdelights.com/ 2008/ 09/ 02/ pulled-pork-sandwiches-yall/Pulled pork is quite different from barbeque. While you can certainly have pork barbeque you just can’t have pulled beef, or pulled chicken! Back in the day, pulled pork was the staple at most southern get togethers. There would be mountains of pulled pork, buckets of cole slaw, oceans of sweet

Book review: Once-a-Month Cooking
http://www.busyfamilymeals.com/ book-review-once-a-month-cooking/Once-a-Month Cooking by Mimi Wilson & Mary Beth Lagerborg These two ladies have come up with a wonderfully simple system to take you step-by-step through the OAMC process. My major problem with their specific way of doing OAMC is that many of their recipes are not actually cooked and frozen…so it ends up being more like once-a-month preparation.

Trying Out A Variation on Once-a-Month Cooking
http://www.artofthecoupon.com/ variation-onceamonth-cooking/I’ve been told that Once-a-Month Cooking is a great way to save money. The idea is you make 30 days of meals all at once and freeze them. That way you save time by cooking in bulk, and money because you plan your meals around what is on sale and you won’t feel inclined to [...]
