This comes up frequently in conversation, talking through this strange dynamic in our relationship.

Mama’s Golden Heart

A strong woman of courage, hope, faith, and love slowly weakened, and then in a flash, she left. I held her hands tight and hugged her not wanting to let go. I prayed so hard to God.

“Send Me a Note, Honey”

She was short and sharp, still able to get around even though she needed that little walker. When we were home a few months ago, I stopped by the assisted living home and stayed for a quiet and slightly uncomfortable moment.

Our Differences made all the Difference

We were all best friends. We really knew each other. We were a small and closely-knit group. But it took a few years of work for us to get there.
