My cabin is booked, I’m pretty sure I have a roommate, the only thing I have to do is raise the rest of my money and book my airfare and I will be headed to Cozumel in December on a cruise ship. This is the one thing I have to look forward to as we trudge through the last week a late registration.

Worked to Death Posted by Bayou on July 30th, 2008 I just got back from a Costco run, after picking up some paper for a project I’m working on. I found it quite curious that the Costco caskets are the end cap for office supplies. And then I had to wonder… perhaps that’s not coincidence.

Let me tell you what I find irritating. No, that was said very politely. Let me tell you what pisses me off to no extent. Nahhhhh…..that was nice yet again. Let me tell you what has me wound up and pissed off to no fucking extent. You see, for the last three months I have been working like a bee on acid.

It started with pagers. Beep beep beep. It’s your boss calling. Now we have cellular phones, satellite phones, e-mail, PDA’s, notebooks, and access to the corporate network via VPN. And iPhones. We are now “empowered” to accomplish work where ever we are, and at any time of the day or night.

It’s over with, and it wasn’t too painful. At least I remembered to update my WP-Config this time. That said, I’ve been hearing horror stories from others who’ve tried to upgrade, so I guess I’m counting myself lucky. So far I’ve updated this site and BYKYC.

Once upon my lifetime, I was a morning person. I’d get up at five in the morning …. feeling energized and ready to tackle the world. My day would start with a bowl of granola for breakfast, and then off to wake up the siblings for school.

I just finished (hopefully) four days of my fifteen-year-old daughter battling a nasty stomach virus. She’s looking much better today. But it was stressful and little sleep was had. It reminded me of the many years when she and her brothers were ill and my mother was in and out of emergency rooms while I was trying to do a great job at work and later be promoted to levels women had not reached.

Mr. Vanity Press writes such thought provoking posts, it often causes me to fill up with ideas for my own. Such is the case with this one. By now you’ve been regaled with the story of my first marriage. Our time together lasted just nine months, but for reasons outside of my control, it took another three years to extricate myself from the man.
