Not So Artful At Athletics (Limerick & Haiku Prompt) September 7th, 2008 When I was in elementary school, I was really bad at two things — art and athletics.  Come to think of it,  I’m still bad at them.  And that leads me to this week’s alternative poetry prompt themes: school and/or things you aren’t good at.

For people looking for alternative ways to remove old paint so that they can apply a new one, checking out this new eco-friendly way of doing it called eco-friendly soda blasting may be something better. Eco-friendly SodaBlasting uses a special formulation of non-toxic sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, to remove paint and marine growth from boat bottoms without harming the gelcoat.

Why Not?! opened at the Housatonic Museum of Art, in Bridgeport, CT, on Thursday night. My piece, Orange Construction Fence Series #49 is on exhibit there. (detail above)A friend of mine went to the Opening. She said that there were over a hundred people at the Opening, and it was a very nice event.

I was invited to participate in a two-person show for the month of September and the reception is Friday night September 12, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. I love the paintings of the other artist, Lin Salamo. The opening coincides with the festive monthly “art walk” called the Stockton Stroll (the gallery is on Stockton Avenue) but the show is up for the rest of the month.

Lazy Daisy! I love daisies, but wanted to create a painting that still had a "fall feel" to it. ~This painting was painted 24 Karat gold paint and then made to look antique. The flower's petals are coated in 18 karat gold leaf. The center is silver leafed, and the step and leaves are copper leafed.
