Palm, also popularly known as the Palm Pilot or PDA (short for Personal Digital Assistant) is a fully functional, handheld mobile computing device which combines the power of 4G networking and a broad range of applications, with full access to the internet and social networking.

Because the Palm is small enough to fit into your hand, it offers all the same benefits of a personal desktop computer, with the added bonus of complete mobility. With Palm, you are always connected. The devices are primarily run on operating systems like Palm OS, WebOS, and Windows Mobile.

The original Palm Pilot was first introduced in 1996 by Palm Electronics, then a division of US Robotics. Subsequent models included the PalmPilot Personal, PalmPilot Professional, Palm III, Palm V and Palm VII.

In April 2010, electronics industry giant HP (Hewlett Packard) made computer news with its acquisition of Palm. Since acquiring the company, HP has introduced a broad variety of new Palm devices like the Veer 4G and Pre 2. In recent years, Palm devices have undergone a progression from the early days of the Palm Pilot, to their present day incarnation as part mobile computer and part smart phone.
