I’ve blogged and blogged about my tumultuous kitchen experiences.  You can add “started a fire” to the growing list of mishaps.  I’ve done everything from spilling a bag of sugar during a baking session, to unintentionally “cooking” meat in the microwave and “burning” pumpkin bread so badly that my husband and I couldn’t see each other clearly through the smoky haze that shadowed the room.

Oh, right. I left you with that cliffhanger last week. We went. And it was Absolutely.Amazing! Way, way back, like, as in last year, I wrote this post for The Parent Bloggers Network. And I won a purple package from Excitations! Excitations is this really neat concept where you can buy experiences in different regions of the country.

Friday Oct. 10 is World Egg Day, and to celebrate, Parent Bloggers Network asked me and eleven other bloggers to create meals featuring eggs with an international flair, that were kid-friendly and budget conscious as well. They gave us each $50.00 to buy ingredients, so I took full advantage.

Friday October 10th is World Egg Day, and in honor of this, I will share with you one of my favorite egg recipes. For the sake of completeness, I have posted a Flickr set of our adventures, plus have created little videos throughout the process.

At our house there is almost always some sort of music on at least in the background.  We sing out loud and proud and Aidan is no different.  Luckily he seems to be (so far) taking after me in the vocal department and after his father in the rhythm department.

Now, I’m by no means an accomplished singer – probably mediocre at best. But when I looked at that sweet baby face and into those beautiful baby eyes, I just had to sing to them.

I knew this day would come! All my hard work making up songs for my baby has paid off! I finally have a venue for my musical masterpieces. Parent Bloggers Network has asked bloggers to share songs we used to liven up our days with little ones.

We’ve just spent the last week dealing with a sick baby and I have to admit that with cold and flu season approaching, I’m not looking forward to months of this.  Last night we were in the Emergency Room with my son because his temperature went up to 104.

My kids are obsessed with getting a pet nowadays. Everyday I get barraged with requests, at various degrees of whine-level: "When can we get a pet?" "What kind of pet will you let us a get?" "Why won't you let us a get a pet?" "Can we get a dog?" "Can we get a cat?" "Can we get a gerbil? a guinea pig? a rabbit? a turtle? a horse?" "Please, please, PLEASE...

Ok, so yes I know that dogs aren’t exactly ‘zoo’ animals. But they’re definitely in the spirit of this latest Blog Blast from the Parent Bloggers Network, asking how our house resembles the zoo. Mine more resembles a kennel though, I suppose.  But close enough.  You see, my 5-year-old daughter is completely crazy over dogs and puppies.
