Percussion is a category of musical instruments that require any object to be struck by another object or tool (or hand) to produce a sound.

The most prominent percussion instrument in music today is the drum. While there are many types of drums that exist, they all are under the category of "membranophone."


Percussion instruments are of great significance in regions where cultural dance is a large part of the way of life.

Percussion workshops are a way to teach tourists or newcomers how to get the rhythmic pounding of a drum to mimic a specific cultural beat. They will provide lessons and fast-track learning on the instruments themselves.
