personal style

Personal style tends to refer to one's external presentation of fashion choices, hair styles and personal grooming details like nails, facial hair, makeup, etc.  Personal style is the way in which individuals choose to combine colors, textures, prints, patterns, silhouettes, accessories and other particulars. Personal style has taken center stage in online conversations since the arrival of First Lady Michelle Obama. Bloggers like Mrs.O MichelleObamaWatch have been virtually obsessed with her personal fashion interpretations from the time President Obama began his campaign.

Fashion choices tend to reflect one's culture, status, individual taste, career and lifestyle. Beyond fashion, personal style is denoted by an individual’s hair style and color as well as makeup application colors and techniques. Men’s facial hair choices become signature components of their style.

Over time, only a few people really stand out as having a distinct personal style or way of carrying and presenting themselves to the world. Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Audrey Hepburn are two women who spark an immediate image of personal style.
