Quantum cryptography in-band attack
http://hackaday.com/ 2008/ 10/ 06/ quantum-cryptography-in-band-attack/Quantum cryptography is an emerging field, but low install base hasn’t kept researchers from exploring attacks against it. It’s an attractive technology because an attacker sniffing the key exchange changes the quantum state of the photons involved. All eavesdroppers can be detected because of this fundamental principal of quantum mechanics.

http://www.stltoday.com/ blogzone/ the-platform/ published-editorials/ 2008/ 09/…The track is almost 17 miles long. Racers travel in opposite directions, building up speed for the moment when they reach peak velocity and veer into oncoming traffic. Around the track and around the world, spectators watch in unblinking fascination — wondering what the outcome will be.

Can a Human See a Single Photon?
http://commenturl.com/ 2008/ 09/ 10/ can-a-human-see-a-single-photon/math.ucr.edu The human eye is very sensitive but can we see a single photon? In 1979 Baylor, Lamb and Yau were able to use rods from toads placed into electrodes to show directly that they respond to single photons. http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/Quantum/see_a_photon.html
