Thursday night at Plano’s Courtyard Theater, The Arts of Collin County Commission assembled a small but passionate crowd to inspire fundraising efforts for a new 124 acre “world class arts park and performance hall.” Where might the sprawling suburb cities of Allen, Frisco and Plano manage to fit such a mecca?

Breast cancer’s no laughing matter, but Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano has hit on a way to raise awareness of the disease and have some fun at the same time. Organizers of today’s Pink Pooch Parade at the hospital attracted dozens of Baylor pet-therapy dogs in costume for the third straight year, and awarded prizes in three categories.

The highlight of the balloon festival in my book was the "Balloon glow". As you probably guessed, the balloon pilots lit up the burners and made their balloons glow in the evening darkness. An announcer coordinated the different kinds of burns. There were a line of several baskets and burners without attached balloons off to one side.

I showed you the panda bear balloon, now here is a dinosaur balloon. As you can see these are massive and filled with nothing but hot air, appropriate during this political season! Here is a peek at how the air in the balloons gets and stays hot.

This weekend on Sunday, September 28, 2008, the Wedding Party will host The Wedding Party Event at the new NYLO Hotel in Plano, Texas. The event will feature couture gowns from Blush Couture, honeymoon swimwear and lingerie, champagne, music, food and more.

This past weekend the city of Plano, just south of McKinney, hosted its annual Balloon festival. It lasted the whole weekend and, as you can imagine, there were lots and lots of hot air balloons floating over town.Check out the panda Balloon, is that cool or what? As you can see it was quite crowded.
