It’s only been two weeks since the My Bloody Valentine curated ATP Festival in New York, and already tickets are on sale for next year’s event. Though eager music fans still have no clue about next year’s lineup, if the next ATP Festival is anything like this year’s, they can expect the following:

Look, I know there's Americana out the wazoo going on right now. And if you've never seen Jason & the Scorchers, tonight's Ryman gig is an excellent time to do it--possibly your last chance. 90's guitar godhead group Polvo has reunited for the upcoming All Tomorrow's Parties festival, curated this year by the similarly reunited My Bloody Valentine. Part of their warm-up tour took them to our neck of the woods and we were blessed with a face-melting performance.

It was ironic that Battles was blaring over the Echoplex soundsystem prior to the arrival of Polvo onstage. The resurgence of weird time signatures and alternate tunings was something Polvo touched on with some of their albums from the early 1990s. It was a no brainer to check them out with the solid line up of The Drones and Trans Am.

Finally. After almost a decade, I was given the opportunity to see Polvo perform live. I can still remember the day Ian introduced me to Celebrate The New Dark Age, and how I immediately fell in love with it.
