pontiac

Pontiac is a car brand used by General Motors Company until 2010. The history of the brand started in 1926 when the Oakland Motor Company assumed the name of its most popular model and ended with 2009 restructuring of GM.

Some of the more popular Pontiac models in its last years included the GTO sports car, Montana minivan and G6 mid-size sedan. It appears that some of Pontiac's models will live on after the brand itself has been discontinued. For example, G8 sedan, re-badged as Chevrolet Caprice PPV (Police Patrol Vehicle) will still be made available to the law enforcement agencies in the US.

Although defunct as a car brand, Pontiac still has a large following online. You can find Pontiac cars blogged about at the Consumer Report car blog and the Motors Forum Pontiac Community.
