    Being a sucker for anything On Sale, a couple of weeks ago I was lured by a big AKTION sign at the supermarket into buying a 3 kilo (about 6.6 lb) bag of sweet red peppers. As much as I love peppers, it was going to be impossible to consume all of it in regular ways. Making a jam or jelly out of them was an obvious answer.

    This recipe is courtesy of my husband. We rented an apartment with a kitchenette for our trip to Sardegna. We did not realize that this meant oven, but no stove. So, my big dreams of baked goodies and fresh lasagna were shot. And, I thought, so too was any recipe involving roasting.

    Every year, I eagerly await tomato season. Tomatoes, along with watermelon and corn, are a few things that makes summer (my least favorite season) entirely bearable for me, much like how Christmas sees so many people through the darkest part of winter. I have a mad crazy love affair with dry farmed early girl tomatoes.
