I’ve just finished the classic Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen for the first time. To be honest, Pride and Prejudice was my first Jane Austen novel and I must agree I enjoyed it.  On many such occasions, I began to speak and think in the same tone as the narrative.

haha. i never imagined i would give an update this soon. but hey, i vowed to be a better blogger, rightie? well. yes i am one. i have grown a soft spot for movies and books set in the 19th century. jane austen's works, at particular. i could just die reading her books and watching movies based on them, in a good way.

Before Bridget Jones’ Diary, Pride and Prejudice has often been credited as being the original chick lit novel. But perhaps like me, you’ve only seen the movies. There’s the 1940 version of Pride and Prejudice with Greer Garson as Elizabeth Bennett and the more recent 2003 Pride and Prejudice with Kam Heskin in that role.

I’ve been sick the last few months.  Not one continuous illness, but a series of no less than seven colds since the first week of January, with some chest pains (lungs?  heart?  Dr.s are still running tests to figure this out) in between.  This has worn me out and obviously my immune system has been compromised in some way in order for this to have happened.

May 2, 2008 The phrase “Felicitations on your grand match,” sounds out in Kiera Knightley’s accent, spat out and indignant. When I pop in the DVD of her version of “Pride and Prejudice”, I can’t find the scene where she says this.

Okay, okay, okay, it has happened again. I came across another challenge and fell for it, how does this always happen? I guess I’m becoming one of those people addicted to challenges. Anyway, the new challenge is the 1% Well-Read Challenge, the title was enough to convince me I needed to join this one.
