Product marketing deals use the first of the "4P"'s of marketing, which are Product, Pricing, Place, and Promotion.

Product marketing for business addresses four strategic questions; what the product is, who the target customer will be, how those customers will be reached, and why they should buy the product.

The web has provided product marketing huge new resources by eliminating much of the cost of reaching potential customers. Email, affiliate networks, ebay, amazon, web sites, business blogs, Facebook and online communication networks have leveled the playing field for smaller players by enabling an easy method of contact for marketers.

Product marketers have embraced viral marketing, harnessing the effectiveness and efficiecies of electronic media and providing the content for individuals to spread the marketers message.
