Individual game tickets for the Devils' four home preseason games go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday at Prudential Center's box office and through Ticketmaster. The Devils play exhibition games at Prudential Center on Sept. 24 aginst the Rangers, Sept. 29 against Washington, Oct. 3 against the Islanders and Oct.

I was sick for a few days, so bear with me for being rather late with this. Tom Gulitti is back with actual substance at Fire & Ice. Apparently, the unofficial beginning of training camp, or "the informal pre-camp workout," began yesterday at the Prudential Center with 18 players arriving to train.

Ringling Bros. coming to Newark arena First, bulls running loose in the city, now the Ledger has pictures of elephants storming Prudential Center. Well, not quite. Minnie the Elephant is a part of the Ringling Bros Circus, posing with Mayor Booker and Bello the daredevil clown.

Metallica to Play Pru Looks like Pru, with its city sponsorship, access to major highways, and link to the rails through Penn Station might just be a good deal more successful than that Izod thing in the swamp. It will be the biggest heavy-metal tour of the Fall/Winter season, and it’s coming to Newark.

Nets Arena May Not Be Finished Until 2011, Ratner Says This in from a tipster: the New Jersey Nets arena planned for Brooklyn’s Atlantic Yards will not be completed now until 2011—three long years from now. Seriously, Nets? Newark can get this done for you by next season. The arena is here and ready for you.

Ahh, pre-season. Music to any starved hockey fan’s ears. Well, the Devils provided some relief by releasing their 2008-2009 Pre-Season Schedule which looks a little something like this… …four games at The Rock is tantalizing, however I’m a little disappointed that there aren’t any games scheduled for Bridgeport, CT or at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Clearly, I need not remind you that updates around here have been few and far between this off-season. So given the fact that I am suffering from a writer’s block that could easily be mistaken for the after-effects of a lobotomy, you could imagine how I reacted when I read this.

Here it is, our first peek at the Devils’ new sculpture for the Prudential Center: This here is the right hand of the sculpture before it’s final assembly. Following up on the story a few weeks ago, Jon Krawczyk has sent me some photos of his most recent work involving his favorite NHL team: The New Jersey Devils.
