Nuggets From FDIC Proposal to Raise Premiums

There are some interesting nuggets buried in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. 82-page proposal to raise the premiums the U.S. banks and thrifts are required to pay the deposit insurance fund. The FDIC projects that bank failures from 2008 to 2013 will cost the deposit insurance fund $40 billion, a number that includes the estimated $11 billion incurred so far this year. ...
