puma

A puma is a wildcat, native to the Americas, extending right from Northern North America, right down to Southern South America. It is also referred to as a mountain lion, panther, and cougar, dependent on which region of the continents the cat dwells.


Puma is also the name of a German shoe and sportswear company. The company got its official name in 1948 but became a public company only in 1986. It currently is one of the most prominent companies in the world to sell high-end athletic shoes.

Popular lines include Puma Trainers, TFX Sprint Running Shoes, and Easy Rider Leather Sneakers.
