Okay, dig. You know the parka from the cover of The Who's Quadrophenia LP? That one to your right? Well, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have signed a remake of one (from Lambretta's Who Collection range) and it will be auctioned to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust next Monday (September 8th).

Having been a huge fan of Pearl Jam during my em, formative years I gained an appreciation for who appears to be lead singer Ed Vedder’s main influence, The Who. Ran across Ed and the Boys covering a couple of Who classics (Love Reign O’er Me and The Real Me, both from the album Quadrophenia) for some VH1 show.

I know a lot of mods. I've been to a lot of mod events over the years... and one thing has struck me - there ain't as many kids as there used to be. A lot of mod events (not all I'll add, before a buncher angry Modernists come charging after me) are populated, in the main, by older men and women.

No one can ever upstage The Who (who the show tributed), but the two song live tribute by Pearl Jam was fantastic. Their rendition of Quadrophenia’s “The Real Me” was absolutely amazing. Eddie Vedder fit right into the Daltrey vocal style and the band tore right through one of the most angry and powerful rock songs of all time.
