ActivityStreams for Rails has been released. Please install via svn: <code> ./script/plugin install svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/activitystreams/trunk </code> This is a new plugin for the Rails Community that provides a customizable framework for cataloging and publishing user activity and social objects.

We’ve been working on a project that involves importing a massive amount of data from multiple sources. The data is somewhat complicated, so we occasionally end up with duplicate records that need merged together. The data is highly normalized, so there are a bunch of associations that also need merged.

I’ve been trying to give rebirth to an old internal project at my company, abandoned circa 2006, and this is one of the code pieces I think it could be useful to others. I wanted to store country information as an ISO code, so here is the plugin to make it work It’s translated using the translation from the iso-codes package, so I guess it’s as good as it can get by now.
