There is no shortage of websites helping provide advice to those of us interested in raising chickens. Whether you need general advice about raising chickens, specific advice about chicken breeds, or you just a general interest in egg laying chickens, there is a website out there ready to help with advice, recommendations and loads of experience.

Chickens are perhaps one of the easiest of farm animals to raise in a backyard setting. Many municipalities allow chickens in residential areas as long as there is no rooster in the flock. Chickens require very little room, basic shelter, and they are very hardy in a wide range of weather conditions.

In addition to meat and eggs, chickens are a source of entertainment and they are a great way to get rid of kitchen scraps, weeds, bugs and even mice. Many people raise chickens as pets, but most people like raising chickens for the fresh eggs.
