Random is a term used to describe something which is not in order of any kind. Basically, it means to pick something out of the blue without thought as to how it will take place.

Most people are familiar with the random idea of having a blog, for example. Every post is another chance to share with the world what one is doing. Whatever comes to mind is the topic. Lots of people may read, or just one person. A 'Thought for the Day' is another form of what random means. Yearly calendars give readers something to consider while going about on a given moment.

Social networking sites have been known to let others in on random information on people they have never met. While this may be enjoyable, discoveries might also leave people in for a shock.
