    Bandeja Paisa: A Colombian Gut-Buster

    http://www.weareneverfull.com/ bandeja-paisa-a-colombian-gut-buster/

We are fortunate enough to live in a city with a ridiculous amount of diversity when it comes to restaurants, and one place we frequent often is a ‘hip’ Colombian restaurant (what the hell, it is Brooklyn). When we go there it’s because of two things: 1) We’re friggin starving and are ready to eat till we drop and 2) we want to get drunk.

    Apple Red Cabbage

    http://razorfamilyfarms.com/ cooking/ apple-red-cabbage/

So, I have to tell you that red cabbage with apples is one of my all-time most favorite things.  From the stove top to the table, it is a treat to the senses.  It’s like candy only better because it contains both a fruit and a vegetable so we can pretend that it is actually good for us.  And, it is ridiculously easy to make.  Did I say ridiculously?  Oh, good.  Because that’s exactly right.

    Did you notice?

    http://innercitygarden.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 02/ did-you-notice/

This here little gardening blog completely failed to mention last week that Australia’s best loved gardening god retired from television. The blog also failed to mention anything about Peter Cundall’s final episdoe of Gardening Australia, primarily because its author was cooking dinner for her outlaws

    Red Cabbage

    http://www.takefit.com/ 260/ red-cabbage/

I love red cabbage. I have German origins so red cabbage cooked the traditional way is one of my favorite foods! Its very warming and comforting and one of the best side dishes to accompany a roast. However it is a bit of an acquired taste due to the vinegar and sugar in the dish! A lot of people I know don’t like it - but I would gladly eat it for them.

Chicken Fajitas with Crunchy Lime Cabbage and Avocado

    http://sarah-cooking.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ chicken-fajitas-with-crunchy-lime.h…

Ok, so you'll have to excuse me. How can I say this? I've gone a little crazy...lime crazy. How can one not get a little carried away with fresh limes, a zester, and 112 degree weather? Today's post and the next few will all feature this wonderful, citrus fruit, partially because of the season and also because limes are $1/lb.
