Bandeja Paisa: A Colombian Gut-Buster
http://www.weareneverfull.com/ bandeja-paisa-a-colombian-gut-buster/We are fortunate enough to live in a city with a ridiculous amount of diversity when it comes to restaurants, and one place we frequent often is a ‘hip’ Colombian restaurant (what the hell, it is Brooklyn). When we go there it’s because of two things: 1) We’re friggin starving and are ready to eat till we drop and 2) we want to get drunk.

Apple Red Cabbage
http://razorfamilyfarms.com/ cooking/ apple-red-cabbage/So, I have to tell you that red cabbage with apples is one of my all-time most favorite things. From the stove top to the table, it is a treat to the senses. It’s like candy only better because it contains both a fruit and a vegetable so we can pretend that it is actually good for us. And, it is ridiculously easy to make. Did I say ridiculously? Oh, good. Because that’s exactly right.

Red Cabbage
http://www.takefit.com/ 260/ red-cabbage/I love red cabbage. I have German origins so red cabbage cooked the traditional way is one of my favorite foods! Its very warming and comforting and one of the best side dishes to accompany a roast. However it is a bit of an acquired taste due to the vinegar and sugar in the dish! A lot of people I know don’t like it - but I would gladly eat it for them.

http://sarah-cooking.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ chicken-fajitas-with-crunchy-lime.h…Ok, so you'll have to excuse me. How can I say this? I've gone a little crazy...lime crazy. How can one not get a little carried away with fresh limes, a zester, and 112 degree weather? Today's post and the next few will all feature this wonderful, citrus fruit, partially because of the season and also because limes are $1/lb.
