A lot of people immediately begin to hum Amy Winehouse's hit song "Rehab" when they hear the word rehabilitation. Others think of Tiger Woods going to rehab for his sexual addiction or Lindsay Lohan going to rehab for drug abuse. Still others think of someone in an orange prison suit going through rehabilitation in prison to change their behavior.

However, rehabilitation can also be the process of assisting someone to improve and recover lost function after an illness or injury that has caused functional limitations. Rehab is a huge field within the health industry, promoting recovery for people after life-changing events. Sometimes, via the use of medical equipment, people are rehabilitated to almost perfect physical health after an unfortunate accident or mishap.


Rehabilitation is essentially recovery from something. Overeating and Anorexia rehabilitation are common. If you eat even while you are brushing your teeth, you may need to consider overeating rehab. If you suffer from an unnatural addiction to reading Technorati tag articles or surfing the internet, perhaps you need to go to internet rehab.

There are many, many types of rehab, but the important thing is that if you are struggling with an addiction, it is important to get in to see a specialist. Bloggers speaking about rehabilitation can be found at sites like ltwc and narconon.
