It's Independence Day - When Did We Lose Our Privacy?

    http://www.injury-and-disability.com/ 2008/ 07/ its-independenc.html

This is the 4th of July, and I'm on the computer in the time between a picnic this morning and dinner and fireworks this evening. I was struck by the irony of an article in the New York Times on this Independence Day. The article is evidence of the chipping away at our individual liberties, fought for over the past 232 years at such enormous cost to American citizens.

I'm sorry but could you repeat that?

    http://revstan.vox.com/ library/ post/ im-sorry-but-could-you-repeat-that.html

Was called today at work by an agency doing some research for the housing association through which I bought my flat. Which is all fine, they are pretty crap at doing the stuff you want them to do like repairing the lock on the front door to the block so it was good to get the opportunity to give some feedback.

    Fourth Thoughts

    http://asymptotia.com/ 2008/ 07/ 04/ fourth-thoughts/

Have a Fantastic Fourth of July, to everyone who is celebrating it! It's been several days since my last confession. Sorry about the silence. I'm honestly not sure exactly what I've been doing, since it has been a mostly fragmented set of things, coupled with a generally down mood of introspection over matters personal.

We pay so much attention to the named founding fathers. This video from American News Project tells us that on this Independence Day we need to look back at the radical influence of Thomas Paine.
