reviews

Tag details

Reviews is a catch-all tag for movie reviews, music reviews, book reviews and other product reviews.  A review includes the opinion of the author and has some aspect of subjectivity.  Reviews may include some sort of ranking or rating system whether that be two thumbs up, ten stars, or a number system.

Bloggers use this tag frequently because everyone has an opinion, and everyone wants to have their opinion heard.  When a blogger hears a great album, for instance, it's hard not to share his/her thoughts, so others can learn about that album.

Reviews allow folks to share information in an effort to keep others abreast of the next great thing.  Reviews make it easy (most of the time) to weed out what isn't worth your time, and what you should be checking out.

It’s been a reoccuring theme in my most recent entries but yes, I have sort of been “out of the loop” with movies throughout this entire summer. I can’t blame it on being busy as much as being a terrible manager of time. As I’ve mentioned many times on this site, Yasujiro Ozu is my favorite filmmaker of ...

  • Built To Spill and Fauxbois @ Irving Plaza: July 28, 2010

    CMJ Staff BlogAuthority Authority: 433
To jam or not to jam? That was the question at the heart of last night’s Built To Spill show at the recently rechristened Irving Plaza. The Idaho based quintet has two modes on record: jumpy, guitar-heavy janglers or expansive, cavernous slow-burners. Sometimes a particular album will lean more on the former ...
