    Our garden has an entirely different complexion and a population very different from three weeks ago, or back in February.  Now it’s the Grosbeak Garden.  I can verify that they begin singing around 5:15 AM daily.  And, boy, do they adore sunflower chips.

    They came creeping out after dark. Camped near Missouri Creek on Oregon's Rogue River, these Western Toads stayed safely burrowed away until twilight. Silently they emerged, sitting atop the warmed rocks of the camp site. They have voices like the weak peeping of baby chicks...
