Roses are commonly known as a symbol of love and beauty. Roses are a perennial flower shrub that comes in many colors and has over 100 species offering nearly unlimited design possibilities for floral arrangements and gardens. Red roses are among the most popular and are commonly given as an anniversary gift and can also make for very romantic Valentines day gifts.

If a gardener ever offers to tell you about "deadheading" they most likely are talking about removing withering buds from the bushes and not their experiences following The Grateful Dead, although they may have taken it just as seriously. Roses need careful tending and care to allow the rose bushes to flourish. By removing withered flowers the roses can focus all their energy and nutrients towards the rest of the budding flowers.
