Within the world of the gemstone, there are a number of gems that are considered to be the "cream of the crop," and therefore these are the best stones that can command the best prices when being sold.

The four main ones are the Sapphire, the Emerald, the Diamond and last but not least the Ruby. The Ruby is a gemstone whose color ranges from light Pink to a deep Red. This color is there due to the presence of the element Chromium, and the name Ruby comes from the Latin word for Red which is ‘ruber.’ Most recently however, there was another discovery near a small village called Winza. The Winza ruby was discovered in Tanzania. These gems are so perfect, they do not need heat treatment in order to make them usable as jewelry.
