Photo Credit: Splash News Ryan O'Neal, 67, and his son Redmond, 23, showed up in Malibu court today, looking like they were miserable in each other's company. They were relieved that their possession of methamphetamines cases were continued until January 9.

"The Insider" was present in the courtroom with actor Ryan O'Neal and his son, Redmond, as the judge continued their felony drug case. Ryan and Redmond's attorneys asked for more time to review evidence and the judge agreed to their request. They will not enter pleas until after the new year.

A Malibu court issued a rain check on this father/son duo’s arraignment today! Ryan and Redmond O’Neal briefly appeared in a Malibu courtroom today to be arraigned on a felony count of meth possession, but the hearing was rescheduled to early next year.  Attorneys asked for the additional time to examine new evidence brought forth by the prosecution.

Despite impending felony charges, Redmond O’Neal is doing well. The son of Ryan O’Neal reported for a progress report in a Los Angeles Court Thursday. He and his father were arrested in September for possession of methamphetamines.

Redmond O’Neal updated a Los Angeles judge yesterday on his progress, following his September 17 arrest for possession of meth.  Redmond told the judge that (a) he has completed a two-week detox program, and (b) he will be enrolling in a continuing drug treatment program.
