salé
The word sale means the act of selling goods or services. However, it is used also used to identify that something is available to be sold, as in "for sale" or if it is being sold at a discount as in "on sale".
The internet began as a method to for scientists and scholars to share ideas. More recently the concept has expanded to also sell goods and services, and share information about those goods and services — both online and at physical "brick and mortar" locations. The sharing of discount items and services "on sale" has blossomed over the past few years. Websites advertising real estate "for sale" have also flourished.
Writers and bloggers may use the word sale in one of the three meanings above, but most likely the latter two. If you are writing about something being sold, at full price or at a discount, the tag "sale" is a good one.
