Sarah Jessica Parker (born March 25, 1965 in Nelsonville, Ohio) is an American film, television, and theatre actress best known for her role as sex-crazed columnist Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City.

Trained in singing and ballet, Sarah Jessica Parker is a seasoned Broadway performer who has also appeared in such notable films as: Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), Ed Wood (1994), and Mars Attacks (1996).

In 1998, Sarah Jessica Parker was cast in the popular drama/comedy Sex and the City alongside Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Sarah Jessica Parker would go on to win four Golden Globe statuettes as well as an Emmy Award for her lead performance. The series aired for six seasons.

Sarah Jessica Parker reprieved her career-defining role as Carrie Bradshaw in the 2008 Sex and the City movie. The film proved to be an international success, grossing more than $400,000,000 worldwide.

Sarah Jessica Parker married film and stage actor Matthew Broderik in a civil ceremony on May 19, 1997. The couple's son James Wilkie Broderick was born on October 28, 2002.
