Satellite Internet, perfect for remote locations, is essentially Internet access provided through satellites.

Satellite Internet is sometimes the only Internet solution for people, other than slower dial-up service, if they live too far from the local phone company office (therefore DSL is not available), and if cable television (and therefore cable Internet) is unavailable.

Satellite Internet uses a satellite dish for two-way (upload and download) data communications.

The equipment generally used for two-way satellite Internet is: a satellite dish, 2 modems for separate uplink and downlink and coaxial cables to tie the modems to the dish.
