scars

Scars, also referred to as cicatrices, are areas on that skin that replace normal skin and become fibrous after injury.

Scarring is a natural part of the healing process during wound repair.

For some people, the scarring might be more than they can handle, so cosmetically, they opt for scar revision surgery.

Because of the make up of scars they become less resistant to ultra violet radiation than normal skin.

Sweat glands and hair do not grow back in areas where scarring has occurred.
