As an unruly teenager you probably thought your father would be a great preacher or evangelist because you didn't have quite enough fingers and toes to count up all of the sermons he delivered when you broke the rules. Sermons are more than lectures, though.

A carefully crafted sermon delivered with genuine concern for the parishioners may persuade, motivate, and inspire a person or group of people to take steps toward true transformational change in their lives.

The difference between a hum-drum snoozer of a sermon, a get up and shout "Hallelujah!" sermon, and a quiet, introspective, and intently listened to sermon has as much to do with the members of the congregation as it does with the Pastor or Priest conveying it.

One of the most well-known sermons was given by Jesus of Nazareth as recorded in the Holy Bible and is referred to by Christianity as the Sermon on the Mount. Like many sermons, this infamous one relayed many significant moral principles and beliefs. Bloggers speaking about sermons can be found at such sites as solidrockchurch and pastorpjsermons.
