Can you imagine a very timid and soft-spoken preacher delivering a "hellfire and damnation" sermon from the pulpit? Instead of a very invigorating and moving experience, he may very well risk putting his parishioners to sleep and his career to bed. The very same thing could happen if a preacher hadn't adequately prepared his sermon outlines, and just stumbled awkwardly through his presentations.

Sermons
are meant to be a call to action. "Else, what therefore then, Brethren, shall ye think to accomplish without a firm resolve this day (slam fist)!" Well, not all fists are slammed, and not all sermons are moving. Nor are all hypnotic and angelic. But, at times they can light a fire of "repentance" and betterment, and get people moving in the right direction.

Its quite striking to compare Peters Pentecost sermon with the one he preaches a few days later in Acts 3. Theres a lot of common features: - Peter deals with misconeptions: this time of the beggar. He is clear about what he can offer, and what he cant. What he can offer is healing in the name of Jesus. • Sermon: Ezekiel 37: 1-14 The Valley of Dry Bones

    Authority Authority:
It sounds like a scene from a horror movie. The prophet Ezekiel is airlifted by the Lord into a valley - but it is no ordinary valley. It’s a place of death and destruction. The scene of a heavy defeat, full of confusion and disorder. Ezekiel is in the valley of dry bones. In fact, they’re not just dry, but, as ...

I have a love/hate relationship with the Apostle Paul. On the one hand, I love the guy. Now, I wonder if anyone can tell me why we’re meeting in the church hall today? Why is it we’re here and not across the road? We’ve got a bit of a building project going on.
