Shades are a way of blocking the light or sun light in particular. This can refer to sunglasses or window shades as well as other darkening or sun blocking materials.

Sunglasses are a very popular method of increasing visibility in areas of sun exposure. Jobson Publishing estimates that more than 85% of Americans use non-prescription sunglasses. Popular brands include Ray Ban, Ed Hardy, Gucci and Dolce, Gabanna, Dior and Fendi.

Window shades can include Roman shades, roller, wood and solar shades. Remote control motorized shades in window versions combine technology with sun shading functions.

Blogs on shades include the Consumer Search blog on the recall of Roman shades and roll up blinds. Information includes the safety risk, prevention and recall information for shades and blinds.
