If you have a "Y" chromosome, you probably don't care much about shampoos. You probably just buy the cheapest kind and call it good. However, if you have two "X" chromosomes, you are more than likely VERY interested in the type of shampoo (and conditioner) that you use, what the ingredients are, how much it costs, if it is all natural, etc.

It's not really up for debate anymore that shampoo is a necessary ingredient for good hygiene. It is a well-known fact that if you want to have clean hair you need to shampoo every day. Shampoo removes oils, dirt, skin particles, etc. from your head and hair that generally build up throughout the course of the day.

George IV and William IV both had specialists whom they referred to as "Shampooing Surgeons" during the 1700s. Then, in the 1800s, shampoo began to become what it is today. Hair stylists started boiling shaved soap in water and adding herbs to the mix to give their client's hair some body and shine.

Kasey Hebert is credited with first making a commercial shampoo to sell. He is affectionately referred to as "The Father of Shampoo."
