shamwow
People can sometimes be suspicious of products "as seen on TV," but what makes this genre of commerce so riveting can sometimes be as primitive as the infomercials. And the ShamWow is a great example of this.
The ShamWow is a product which markets itself to be a heavy duty cloth, or chamois (pronounced "SHAM-mee") that cleans spills of all types and sizes. Where the Internet's fascination kicks in is the product's infomercial. The pitchman for the ShamWow is a man who goes by the name Vince Offer, who uses a very abrasive style to communicate to the viewers that it's absolutely a life-or-death situation that they purchase the product.
Getting beyond the spectacle, people want to know if the ShamWow is actually worth buying. Some bloggers think it's worth the 20 bucks, while others aren't that impressed. Not everyone on the Internet agrees! Go figure!
