BURLINGAME, Calif., May 12, 2008 — Today Eye-Fi, Inc. (www.eye.fi), makers of the world’s first wireless memory card for digital cameras, today announced the Eye-Fi Explore, a new card designed to make photo sharing richer, easier and more convenient.

The wireless SD Card product, Eye-Fi, just released two new versions of its wireless card for cameras. The original Eye-Fi seemed exciting when it launched last year, but upon inspection was somewhat limited. The Eye-Fi device is a 2 gigabyte memory card for digital cameras that includes a wi-fi chip that allows photos to be moved automatically, and wirelessly to the user’s computers.

Today Eye-Fi, creators of wireless memory cards for digital cameras, announced the Eye-Fi Explore card. This new 2G storage card integrates Wi-Fi Positioning from Skyhook and enables automatic photo geotagging and sharing. (more…)

Eye-Fi today announced the Eye-Fi Explore, a new SD card for digital camera that will make photo sharing richer and more convenient. The Eye-Fi Explore allows users to automatically upload photos from more than 10,000 hotspots while away from home or from their home wireless network.

Looks like I complained a little too soon, Skyhook actually added my AP to their database and it now shows up on Maps. Seems like 19 days is the magic number.

On the 12th of April I’d posted on how to submit your AP to Skyhook Wireless (the folks behind the iPod touch/iPhone’s ability to plot your location based off available APs). Well, 18 days later and still no sign of being added to their database. I feel so cheated… Okay, not really.
