operation aborted It’s been a long time since I don’t use any javascript plugin for my images, so having problem with any plugin will never enter to my mind until I open my site in Internet Explorer 6 and IE7.

There are many blog posts where we may need to display those huge images, however we can’t display those huge images in full size as they tend to break the design of the whole blog post (ofcourse, it’s actually depends on theme’s design).

The following tutorial explains how to fix the "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site. Operation Aborted" error that is often encountered just after implementing either the Lightbox, Lightbox 2, Thickbox or Slimbox WordPress plugins.

After researching every single modal window, lightbox, slimbox, etc out there nothing fit the bill. Granted some of them were very nice but only fit a specific purpose, others were a nightmare on the code end, and others were just hacks of another.

While implementing yet another a WordPress site, I found myself in the situation where I wanted to display any and all images in lightboxes, but with a minimum of interaction from the editor’s part. All current plugins that integrate Slimbox (that I know of – this one, for example) actually require the editor to add the rel="lightbox" attribute.
