Social media marketing. For many marketers, this new marketing discipline is an exciting departure from more traditional marketing mediums.

Social media marketing means marketing either yourself, or a product or company through the various social media outlets online, these include sites such as Twitter, Facebook and linkedIn.

It usually involves creating a buzz around the online community that attract attention and in turn become viral. This is the main aim of social media marketing, if you fail to become viral, you may still see positive results, but not on the massive scale you would have hoped for.

One of the most popular bloggers on the topic is Scott Monty. His blog is kept up to date with the latest changes in the networking industry.
