As the awesome summer of 2008 slowly becomes nothing more than a memory, some amazing shows this Sunday remind us that summer is not quite over yet!  Be seriously entertained and rediscover some southern music roots with Southern Culture on the Skids at The Echo.

Southern Culture on the Skids will perform at 9 p.m. Oct. 3 at Blueberry Hill’s Duck Room. Tickets are $17.50. Dressy Bessy will perform at 9 p.m. Oct. 31. Cover is $10. The Nukes featuring Packy Reynolds (vocals), Chuck Lindo (bass), Mike Eisenbeis (guitars), and John Pessoni (drums) is at 9 p.m.

It’s summertime, and all the surfers and hodads are once again sharing that sandy divide between land and sea. No matter which side of the divide you’re on, there’s nothing like some reverb soaked surf-strumentals to make that grey cubicle feel more like a day at the beach.
