The term Spa is derived from the name of the town of Spa, Belgium, whose name is known back to Roman times, when the location was called Aquae Spadanae. The original association was with bathing but has changed to denote a relationship with anything that is both luxurious and beauty or health related.

The term Spa thus has various related meanings and blogs that cover these topics in the bloggosphere including; hot tub, resort spa, medical spa, health spa and day spas.
