Speed can either be the velocity, rate, change, or motion of an object, or it can be a type of illegal psychoactive drug people take as a hallucinogen or a stimulant. In this article, we are going to focus on the former.

Speed, in its most rudimentary sense, determines how fast we do things. Whether it be surfing the internet to find a piece of information, trying to finish our homework before class starts, or trying not to be late for an important appointment, it all comes down to speed.

When it comes to speed, things are all relative. It has been said that anything is within walking distance, if you just have the time. And it's true — you can get from "Point A" to "Point B" if time and speed are not a factor. You may have to have the patience of a turtle jockey, but you can do it.

Some feel the need for speed when they are driving and will buy a car that is turbo charged with a souped up engine. Others are content with four wheels and a running board as long as it gets them to where they want to go.
